An  exciting opportunity for a Building Services Principal Electrical Engineer has arisen within the Building Services team, to cover a full spectrum of environmental and electrical engineering design and consultancy services.

As a successful candidate, you will work alongside like-minded engineers and a multi-disciplined team. You will be a team worker, responsive, commercially astute, be able to communicate effectively, work on your own initiative .

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical design engineer, who would like to progress to Principal level, to join this professional practice and reap the rewards of being involved in exciting and prestigious projects as well as being offered ongoing development.

• Involved in the preparation of reports, designs, specifications and contract documents
• Technically capable and willing to assist less experienced members of the team
• Technically review designs produced and verify completeness to technical standards
• Liaising with other engineers/technicians to ensure updates to technical standards are maintained and disseminated to the team
• Ensure that design briefs are completed satisfactorily
• Promote and incorporate sustainable design wherever possible
• Supervise the preparation of contract documents
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors, suppliers, sub contractors and other design
• Provide technological input and supervise technical input by others within the electrical building services discipline
• Operate to the Quality Assurance system, quality control and document management in line with current policy

• Experience of using Hevacomp / Amtech (or both) calculation packages
• Experience of using Relux / Dialux lighting design packages
• Experience of delivering to BIM would be advantageous
• Experience of working to QA procedures
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or electrical based subject (or equivalent qualification)
• Similar experience working in a design consultancy, with experience of concept, scheme and detail design across a range of sectors.
• Design of specialist electrical systems for a wide range of heavily serviced facilities
• Knowledge of BIM, AutoCAD, Revit and associated design management tools
• A good understanding of quality assurance, safety and environmental sustainability
• Ability to manage projects and design commissions relating to building services including project finances.
• Good ability to build up and maintain client and team relationship
• Excellent report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients essential
• Organise and prioritise their own time and tasks to enable the simultaneous running of several projectsF
