My client is a registered charity with an excellent reputation for providing adults with learning disabilities and mental health problems to be as independent as possible, leading interesting and fulfilling lives. An opportunity has arisen for a Support Worker to become a valued member of the team in a Residential Care Setting service. This is a fantastic opportunity, for a caring individual to reap the reward of providing an excellent level of care to individuals and support them to develop confidence. This professional organsiation provide full training and ongoing support for progression. |
Responsibilities: | Supporting adults in a residential care setting with learning and physical disabilities and complex needs. Provide support with everyday tasks such as preparing and eating meals, personal care, attending appointments, shopping etc. To ensure person centred care is provided, care plans are followed and updated and CQC standards are met. Encouraging individuals to partake in social and community events, sport such as swimming, hobbies, day trips, short holidays, support in going to the cinema, theatre, meals in restaurants, pubs and social evenings etc. |
Skills & Attributes | Ideally have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care Excellent communication skills - ability to communicate with residents, team members and other professionals such as social workers. Ability to listen and motivate individuals to partake in hobbies, learning development and social events to help them lead fulfilling and independent lives. Understanding of learning disabilities, mental health problems and complex needs Willingness to work flexible hours. Passion to provide excellent standard of care and enjoy providing opportunities to enable residents to develop confidence and fulfil their potential. Experience of using hoists and manual handling an advantage. |
