As a successful Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other Engineers as part of a dedicated and skilled building services design team in the Manchester office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer who wishes to progress to a senior level, to join this Building Services Consultancy and reap the reward of interesting projects and ongoing progression.

Our client are an independent, engineering Building Services Consultancy, with an excellent reputation for the delivery of creative, value led building and city solutions. They are currently involved with a range of interesting prestigious projects including sport and leisure, health care and commercial.

Due to ongoing success of winning a range of projects, they are recruiting a Mechanical Design Consultant to join the Building Services team Manchester office.

Responsibilities: Undertake detailed mechanical engineering design
HVAC Design for a range of Building Services Projects
Prepare technical schedules.
Work closely with and monitor performance of Technicians and Graduate Engineers (as appropriate)
Under guidance of senior staff, represent the client at meetings with the client, other professionals and suppliers
Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget
Ensure that appropriate service / mechanical design decisions are met.
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service / design decisions and the objectives of the company and the client are achieved
Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the client’s best interests.
Actively work towards Chartered Engineering status, and a Senior Engineer position
Mentor and assist Graduate Engineers
Skills & Attributes  

Essential Experience :

Proven track-record in mechanical design engineering within buildings projects.
Graduate member / member of professional institution.
Ability to accept a high degree of responsibility in a team-based organisation, combined with ability to work independently.

Desirable Experience :

Ideally, as a successful Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have mechanical design experience of working on a variety of challenging building services projects
Awareness of Hevacomp and AutoCAD preferred, Revit highly desirable.

Qualifications :
Bachelors degree (BEng) / BSc or Masters degree (MEng) / MSc in a relevant subject - e.g. Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Engineering, or Building Services Engineering
